An Artist Declaration Moriya Mor an Israeli artist
I am an Israeli artist, sculptor mainly. I hold a BSc in biology, MSc and PHd in science education, as well as teaching certificate.
My sculptures are being born out of my emotions or worries, my thoughts and hopes, turning in my head and hands from ideas into a piece of art.
Usually, I begin with clay and then I cast bronze, pour polymers materials, or use mixed media that I created myself.
I love working with clay since it gives me an opportunity to create forms and motions, images and flows, that follow my feeling and imagination. It also gives me an opportunity to combine new materials and new ways to express myself. Recently, I use iron to build my works. In some sculptures I choose the abstracted way while in other works I choose the realistic way, due to the specific work.
Being an energetic and active person, my work is characterized by flowing, clear and dynamic lines.
Being a loving and involved grandmother to eight lovely grandchildren, I expresse my admiration for children's appearance and development, childhood, motherhood, femininity, or life cycles – old age versus childhood in my sculptures. As a committed and proud citizen in Israel, my concern and thoughts responding national Events, produced several installations as well as sculptures like ' shout' or series of birds, visualizes flight of hope and light. My favorite areas of interests - dancing, nature or movement also take place in my works.
I am an active member in 'Aman Beiro' Kfar Saba association (means: An artist in his city) and in The Visual Artists Association' of Israel.
